My girlfriend and I had an appointment to see if she was pregnant, She was considering abortion, but I didn’t feel good about that. I agreed to go with her to support her, but my gut was telling me that it wasn’t right. I was relieved when she said she wanted to keep the baby. Things didn’t work out for us, but I still wanted to be a good father to my daughter. Abundant Hope offers “The Best Dad’s Challenge”, which is a fatherhood mentorship program, so I joined. The male mentor I worked with was actually like a father to me. I never knew what a father was supposed to be like. He helped to give the support and confidence that I needed to be a great dad to my little girl.

My boyfriend and I are both addicts. We were in such a dark place when I found out I was pregnant. We decided we needed to get clean and quit cold turkey because we wanted a healthy baby. It's been hard, but Abundant Hope has been supporting us with many of the items that we need for our beautiful daughter. I really depend on them each month to help us with the basic necessities of diapers, wipes and formula. We are a happy family and doing well thanks to the support of Abundant Hope.

I was in my last year of college when I missed my period. My boyfriend was back home down south so I had to figure out my next steps on my own. I went to the internet to find out what to do next. I found Abundant Hope and made an appointment. They offered everything I need free of charge. I made my appointment and was happy to meet the staff and find that they were so compassionate and understanding of my situation. They gave me support and encouragement which helped me get through my last semester and prepare to return home for the birth of my little girl. I am so thankful to have found this amazing place.

Amanda's Story

At 16, I had an abortion that changed my life forever. I have struggled with grief, despair and regret from the moment I walked out of the abortion clinic. I have since gotten married and have three other children but I still think about my lost baby every day. I finally decided to find help with the emotions I was experiencing and found an abortion recovery Bible study at Abundant Hope called Surrendering the Secret. Surrendering the Secret changed my life. I found forgiveness and peace and don't have to hide my story anymore! I am so grateful to Abundant Hope for helping to free me from my past pain. I am now a volunteer at their Center helping other women find healing.
